After you have enrolled, you will receive instant access to the video archive. Within a few minutes, you will be inside the archive, and you can start learning. Each week you will be sent a zoom link to join our weekly, 50-minute call
Except on weeks of holidays, calls will be held on a rotating bi-weekly schedule on Thursdays.
Every other week: Thursday at 9:10-10 a.m.
Every other week: Thursday at 7:30-8:20 p.m.
When you join, you will be asked to fill out a Google document with all of your available times for these calls throughout the week (there are a few times listed for each day of the week). This sheet will be used for backup times on holidays and weeks I am traveling.
I aim to help every member of the group with their individual needs. We will put members in a rotation for personalized instruction, and prioritize 2 members each call (but all members are welcome and encouraged to join every call!). When it is "your turn" for instruction, you will have 4 different options to choose from:
1. Submit a video for review, where we will provide solutions for your improvement
2. Personalized 15-minute Q&A chat on the live call where you can ask me questions about your specific pieces or musical questions (outside of the general Q&A at the end of each call).
3. Request a "guided practice session" from me - I would be happy to demonstrate a short 15-minute session of something I am currently working on to show you my various practice/learning strategies.
4."Skip" your turn and defer to the next member
As a reminder, there is a general Q&A at the end of every call where I open up the discussion for all members to ask questions.
Attendance is not mandatory. Of course, it is encouraged for the deepest learning experience. However, we understand that schedules are busy. You can still submit videos and get Josh's feedback in the recorded call if you are unable to join live.
Absolutely! You can play whatever piece you need help with. In order to abide by copyright laws (see the last section of this FAQ), scores of copyrighted works will not be shown on screen during the calls, except for small excerpts of the piece, when needed for demonstration and educational purposes. These calls are designed to help YOU with whatever your specific needs are, regardless of the genre of piece you choose to play or ask questions about.
At this time, enrollment will be capped at 25 students.
Due to the nature of live coaching, we do not offer refunds on this program. By enrolling in the program, you agree to this policy.
If you do not wish to continue after your first month or your first year (whichever option you choose above), you can cancel the day before your renewal date inside of your account portal, and it will not renew.
We do not offer a pre-payment for X number of months. We only offer a monthly plan or a yearly plan, as seen above.
We do not offer a "pause" on either the monthly or yearly plan. If you need to take a break, you can cancel before your plan renews, and re-enroll (if there are openings in the program and the enrollment is not full) when you are ready to resume.
